Know the key principle of gel permeation chromatography

In GPC analysis, higher molecular weight molecules elute prior to lower molecular weight molecules. This is because the GPC Column stationary phase (typically a cross-linked gel) has a defined surface pore size. In a well-designed method, smaller molecules can diffuse more deeply into more pores more often. As a result of spending more time diffusing in and out of pores, smaller molecules elute from the GPC Column after larger molecules. Larger molecules are less likely to enter pores and do not spend as much time diffusing in and out of pores within the GPC Column.

Resolve Columns High resolution spherical packings

Non-endcapped Resolve packings are significantly different from Waters other packing materials in that they typically provide higher retention of polar compounds and complement those of Nova-Pak and µBondapak chemistries. Resolve C₁₈ and silica columns are available in 5 µm and 10 µm spherical packings for applications requiring higher resolution than what is achievable using irregularly shaped chromatographic particles. The non-endcapped silica surface offers a balance of retention for separation of polar compounds.

It uses dual-array CMOS image sensors with higher sensitivity and wider spectral response range, making the test more accurate. The repeatability ΔE*ab of the TS8296 benchtop spectrophotometer is easily controlled within 0.01, and the inter-instrument agreement ΔE*ab is controlled within 0.12.
