This application is the basic framework for all BK Connect applications (except for BK Connect Hardware Setup) and provides the tools to support the user throughout the data analysis process. The Photoelectric Tachometer Probe provides a very convenient transducer for triggering a portable stroboscope, such as Type 4912 where the range of motion is great enough,i.e., more than a few millimetres.

BK Connect® Indoor Pass-by for setup and performance of measurements simulating pass-by noise on a chassis dynamometer in a hemi-anechoic chamber.

BK Connect Indoor Pass-by allows you to easily setup and perform indoor pass-by measurements simulating the pass-by noise of a vehicle. The test vehicle drives on a chassis dynamometer in a hemi-anechoic chamber in a controlled environment, with noise measured by a series of microphones on either side. Measurements are more easily controlled and reproducible on a dyno, and the stationary vehicle allows additional instrumentation to be placed around the vehicle. 

BK Connect Indoor Pass-by is designed around the standard test method described in ISO 362-3 and specified in UN Regulations R51, but can also be used in smaller, non-standard test chambers when type certification is not required.

The Hammer Impact is a point BK Connect® Applet containing all functionality required to calculate accelerance, mobility and compliance FRFs using impact hammer measurements

BK Connect Hammer Impact Applet is a dedicated tool for characterizing structural properties such as resonances in troubleshooting, benchmarking, design verification, quality control or material testing scenarios using roving or fixed hammer impact testing.

Acquired FRFs can also be exported to BK Connect Modal Analysis Types 8420 and 8420-A for a complete modal analysis on complex structures.

BK CONNECT TYPE 8441-D

BK Connect® Pass-by SPC helps you investigate the contribution of noise sources such as tyres, engine/motor, exhaust, to the overall pass-by noise.

Source Path Contribution (SPC) analysis is a technique for evaluating noise contributions from suspected sound or vibration sources through various acoustic or vibroacoustic paths to a desired receiver location. Dominant sources with respect to a given receiver can be highlighted to help focus engineering effort where it has the greatest effect. While SPC methods are often used for interior cabin noise analysis with sources and paths being both acoustic and vibratory, BK Connect Pass-by SPC is specially designed for pure acoustic analysis using measurements from an indoor pass-by setup. 

Unlike some other solutions, BK Connect’s SPC methods calculate source contributions explicitly, rather than breaking down the measured total sound into contributions. By comparing the sum of contributions with the original overall measured data, you get a true validation of the model with results that are obtained independently of each other. A close match gives confidence in the modelling assumptions, which is important when using SPC for making real engineering decisions such as in design optimization or problem resolution.
